Here are my songs set to scripture to help with memorization of the Word. I will be adding more over time so check back frequently to add more verses to your repertoire. (I’ve removed the songs for now, hopefully to be replaced with something better in the future!)
Jeremiah 17: 7,8
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes, its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”
1st Peter 5: 6,7
“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s might hand, that He may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.”
Psalm 5: 1,3
“Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my sighing. Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray. In the morning, O Lord, You hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you, and wait in expectation.”
John 15: 13
“Greater love has no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.” * Sung by Carissa
Psalm 62: 1,2
“Find rest O my soul in God alone.
My hope comes from Him.
He alone my rock and my salvation.
He is my fortress, I will never be shaken.” *Sung by Carissa
Psalm 9: 9,10
“The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed,
A stronghold in times of trouble.
Those who know your name will trust in you,
For you Lord have never forsaken those who seek you.”
*Sung by Carissa
Heb. 4: 12-13
“For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any double-edged sword. It penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s own sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.”
John 21:25
“Jesus did many other miraculous signs that are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the son of God.”
*Sung by Kenna Bowers, aged nine!
John 8:12
“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, But will have the light of life.”
Phil. 4: 6-8
“Do not be anxious about anything but in everything with prayer and petition, with thanksgiving present your requests to God. And the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Heb. 12:1
“Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us. And let us run with the endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.”
Phil. 1: 9-10
“And this is my prayer that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight. And that you may be able to discern what is best and be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ to the glory and praise of God.”
Psalms 91: 1-6
“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at noon.”
Psalms 51
Matt. 20: 26-28
“Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Romans 8:28-29
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. For those God foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of His Son that He might be the firstborn among many brothers.”
Matthew 7:13-14
“You can enter God’s kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few every find it.”
Colossians 3:1-14
“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Bear with each other, and forgive any grievances you have against another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all of these things put on love which binds them all together in perfect unity.”
